Waterford FC can confirm that midfielder Kenny McEvoy has left the club by mutual consent.
McEvoy has played a big role in the club’s top of the table status, appearing in 16 league games, scoring once and contributing with a number of assists from the wing. The Waterford native however has opted for a move back to England, committing himself to a new full time job to support his young family.
Speaking on his time at Waterford FC, McEvoy reflected:
“I would like to thank the management team for being so understanding with my decision to leave the club. I was given an opportunity I couldn’t pass up on which means my family could settle for the first time in four years.
“The help and support shown to me during my time at Waterford by all the staff has been great and I really hope that the lads go on to win the league.
“Waterford will always be my home town and I wish the club every success in the future.”
Waterford FC would like to thank Kenny for the commitment he has shown to the club, sponsors and supporters this season both on and off the pitch. We wish Kenny, Toni and their young daughter Dolly all the best for the future.
