Waterford FC is delighted to unveil our Under-15 squad for the inaugural U15 National League that kicks off this weekend.
Waterford FC, managed by former player Francis Rockett, will compete in Group 3 for the short season along with Cobh Ramblers, Cork City, Kerry, Limerick and Wexford. The sides will face each other both home and away, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the finals stage.
Waterford FC U15 manager Fran Rockett: “I’m delighted to announce the squad for the 2017 season. We’ve looked for players from all across the region and we feel we’ve put together a good squad of players.
“With this being the first U15 season, every team is going into the unknown somewhat, but we’ve prepared well and we can’t wait to get started. We’re away to Limerick this Sunday. Then we face Cork City in our first home match so everybody is looking forward to getting going.
“The club’s first team, U19 and U17 teams have all been doing well recently so it’s great for the club, and our objective is to develop these players that we have in the squad and push them up the ladder to our other teams in the future. The lads have been training hard and we can’t wait for Sunday’s first game.”
Waterford FC Head of Youth Development Gary Power said, “A lot of hard work has gone into preparing the squad and I would like to thank all the local schoolboy clubs who have assisted us greatly with our trials process and who have got the players to this stage.
“It’s a very exciting time for Waterford FC and our underage setup is going from strength to strength and it’s great now to have the U15s in place. I would like to wish our management team Fran Rockett, Peter Higgins, Brendan White, and Kevin Burns all the best for the season ahead.”
