Waterford FC Under-15s made it two wins on the bounce after a comprehensive 4-0 win away to Cobh Ramblers on Saturday afternoon.
Having lost their opening league match 3-2 away to Limerick, the Blues got their first points last Saturday beating Cork City 1-0 at the RSC.
On Saturday in St Colman’s Park, The Blues got off to a slow start and could have been behind after 18 minutes when the home side were awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Kyle Shelly made a tremendous save to keep it out.
And that brought the Blues to life – within five minutes they were in front. Killian Griffin did well down the right wing and he crossed for Kyle Cuddy to fire into the back of the net to make it 1-0.
The lead was doubled just six minutes later. Ethan Flynn’s crossfield ball saw Ravelli Kilonda and Kyle Cuddy involved before it found Tega Agberhiere out left and his cross was met by the darting run of Cuddy to head past the keeper to make it 2-0.
Five minutes before half time Fran Rockett’s side made it 3-0. Robert Bulmer and Ian Flynn won back possession as Cobh looked to break before finding Donal Porter and his cross was headed into the back of the net by a Cobh defender.
The Blues made it 4-0 with a goal of real quality – Cian Browne nipped possession from Cobh before finding Bulmer. He found Kilonda who in turn found Cuddy before slipping the ball into the path of Bulmer to fire home.
The Blues U15s are back in action this Saturday with a trip to Tralee to face Kerry (3.30pm kick off).
