SSE Airtricity League Premier Division
St. Patrick’s Athletic -v- Waterford FC
Friday, May 03, 2019
Kick Off: 7.45pm
Referee: Ray Matthews

Waterford FC are back on the road this Friday night as the Blues travel to Richmond Park to take on St. Pats.

The Blues come into the game on the back of a defeat at the hands of champions Dundalk FC on Monday; the visitors running out 3-0 winners in the RSC. The Blues, however, were unbeaten in four games previous and will look to return a positive result this Friday night.

The sides last met back in March when a double from Aaron Drinan fired Waterford FC to a 2-0 win in the RSC.

Managers View:

Speaking after Friday’s defeat to Dundalk on Monday, manager Alan Reynolds said:

“I thought that the first goal of the game was a killer to be honest. We were nearly getting to the half time break at 0-0, but to concede I think in the 43rd-minute was a disaster really.

“Matthew Connor pulled off a great save in injury time to stop it from going 2-0, but I felt it took us 20 minutes to get going. They are a very good side as everybody knows and they finished the first half well, but the timing of the first goal killed us.”

Speaking ahead of Friday’s trip to Richmond Park, manager Alan Reynolds said:

“We’re coming to the end of a really busy couple of weeks but we just have to dust ourselves down and look to Friday night. We’re missing a few players again and Bastien [Hery] is suspended but we’ll just reorganise and look to play how well we know we can when we get going.”

Team News: Kenny Browne, Kevin Lynch and Dean Walsh all miss out; Zack Elbouzedi and Aaron Drinan are doubts, while Bastien Hery is suspended.
