SSE Airtricity League Premier Division
Finn Harps -v- Waterford FC
Friday, October 18, 2019
Kick Off: 8pm
Referee: Damien MacGraith

Waterford FC hit the road for the final time this season when the Blues take on Finn Harps in Finn Park on Friday night.

The Blues are in good domestic form with four wins from their last five games including their last three away games against Cork City, Bohemians and St Patrick’s Athletic.

Last week began with another win; 2-0 at home to Sligo Rovers in the RSC before departing the Scottish Challenge Cup in Scotland (Will Fitzgerald and Michael O’Connor on the scoresheet in a 3-2 loss).

Harps have won two of the three meetings between the sides so far this season; The Blues’ win coming at home in March.

Manager View: Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie ahead of Friday’s match, manager Alan Reynolds said:

“We have two games left and we want to win both. Away to Finn Harps is never easy especially when they’re fighting for their lives so we need a good performance to have any chance of getting the points.

“They’ve beaten us this season already and Ollie always has them well prepared and Friday will be the same again. We have UCD next week in the final game so we’re pushing for six points to finish the season.

“Lots of players got good game time in Scotland last week so hopefully that’ll stand to them for the last couple of games.”

Team News: Cory Galvin and Georgie Poynton are sick but it’s hoped they’ll make the squad. Zack Elbouzedi returned from international duty with a knock and will be assessed ahead of the game.
