SSE Airtricity League Premier Division
Bohemians -v- Waterford FC
Friday, September 11, 2020
Kick-Off: 5.45 pm

Waterford FC travel to Dalymount on Friday evening to take on Bohemians in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division looking to build on last weekend’s 3-0 win over St Patrick’s Athletic.
The Blues travel to the capital on a high after goals from Ali Coote, John Martin and Michael O’Connor ensured the Blues took all three points from the Dublin club for the second time this season.
Bohs came into Friday night’s game after a tough Dublin Derby on Saturday afternoon. A Daniel Lafferty goal on 4 minutes proved decisive as Bohs slipped to their second derby loss of the season.
The sides last met back in February when two goals late in the first half saw Bohemians all three points from the RSC.
The sides last met in Dalymount Park back in September 2019. A stunning goal from Tom Holland secured the three points after Rory Feely’s early first-half goal was cancelled out by Ross Tierney.
Of the sides meetings since the Blues returned to the top flight, it is the Blues who have been more successful. The Blues have won on four occasions and lost twice.
Managers View: Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie ahead of this weekend’s match against Bohemians, manager John Sheridan said:
“Last week was brilliant for us. As a group, it gave everyone a massive lift. Was it perfect? Not by a long shot. Did each player give 100% to the cause? Most definitely.
“It was a massive three points for us. We needed a win, especially at home and we went and got it. That is all in the past now and we have to refocus and go again this Friday.
“Bohs are on the top side. We’re expecting a tough battle, but I think if we can keep focused and work hard we can take something from the game.”
Team News: Sam Bone misses the game after having surgery on his hamstring during the week.
