Joey O’Brien – WIT Arena High Performance Director

Joey currently works as WIT Arena High Performance Director overseeing all areas of High Performance for the WIT Arena and WIT Vikings Sport programs .

Joey has a degree in Sports Coaching and Performance from WIT, a Masters in Strength and Conditioning and is currently doing a PHD in the Institute of Technology Carlow, investigating the effect of different strength training exercises on eccentric hamstring strength with a specific interest in flywheel training.

Joey has previously worked with Waterford Senior Hurlers, Waterford FC senior squads as well as a variety of athletes ranging in ages and sports. Joey is an accredited Strength and Conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Jamie Dalton – Waterford FC Academy Head High Performance Coach

Jamie is currently working as a Strength and Conditioning coach at the WIT Arena and the Head of High Performance for the Waterford FC Academy. Jamie joined the Academy in 2019 working with the Under 15 squad but has since become the head of high performance for the entire academy.

Jamie has a degree in Sports Coaching and Performance from the Waterford Institute of Technology. His previous experience include working as an S & C Coach/Sport Scientist for West Bromwich Albion First Team and Academy, as well as working with the Waterford Senior Hurlers and Waterford GAA development squads.
