Waterford FC is delighted to announce the signing of Callum Stringer.

The 19-year-old has been part of the Blues pre-season and joins Ian Morris’s first team squad ahead of the 2022 season.

The midfielder impressed for the Blues U19s last season, while also a part of the Blues first team squad for the latter part of the 2021 season.

Stringer joined the Blues Academy having starred in the local Waterford schoolboy and junior leagues.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, new signing Callum Stringer said: “I’m delighted to have made that step up from the Academy and be part of such a strong squad this season. We’ve all been working hard over pre-season and adapting to the manager’s new ideas and there’s a real buzz around the place. I can’t wait to get going.”

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, manager Ian Morris said: “Callum has come through the Academy and grabbed his opportunity with both hands. He is improving every day and his performances have been excellent so far. Huge credit to Mike, the Academy coaches and all coaches for his development so far. There is a pathway here at Waterford FC for players and coaches.”
