CLUB STATEMENT FROM CHAIRMAN MITCH COWLING
Firstly, I want to start by saying Hello Blues!
Since I joined the club last June myself and Richard have received an amazing welcome, fantastic support and encouragement from the fans and the City of Waterford as a whole.
Everyone at the club has been working very hard behind the scenes to bring you an exciting season. Although we cannot guarantee you 3 points every week, I can guarantee you that we will be exciting to watch and everyone at the club will give everything to the badge each week to get us back where we belong.
I would like to thank all of our staff for the amazing work they put in behind the scenes. Thank you to our sponsors and all of our volunteers who have committed to another season with us, your work doesn’t go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank the staff at the RSC and WIT Arena.
I unfortunately have to touch on a slightly negative note due to unacceptable behaviour at our first league game against Athlone last Friday. Waterford FC was issued with a fine this week by the FAI Disciplinary Control Unit due to missiles being thrown onto the pitch and flares being let off amongst our supporters.
Please note:
These actions from a minority of fans isn’t supporting Waterford FC and only has a financial and negative impact on the club. Richard Forrest has put significant investment into your club and we will not tolerate this behaviour.
If anyone is caught with flares or throwing missiles at home or away games it will result in a season long ban.
On a positive note, we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the RSC tonight for our first home game.
Let’s get the place rocking !!
Cmon the blues !!
Yours in Sport
Mitch Cowling
