Kick-Off: 3pm
Referee: Declan Toland
Waterford FC return to league action this Sunday with a trip to the Carlisle Grounds to face Bray Wanderers.
The Blues come into the game following last weekend’s 3-2 FAI Cup quarter final win over Dundalk. Having fallen behind, goals from Shane Griffin, Darragh Power and Phoenix Patterson turned the game on its head, before a late injury time Dundalk goal made for a nervy finish.
It’s the fourth meeting between the sides this season with three wins from three for the Blues; 1-0, 4-1 and 1-0.
With a play-off spot secured, the Blues are looking to finish the season in good form and with a FAI Cup semi final to come next month.
Visitors Bray Wanderers lost 2-1 to Treaty United last time out, but beat Galway United and Athlone Town in their previous league fixtures.
From The Dugout: Speaking ahead of Sunday’s match against Bray Wanderers, head coach Danny Searle said:
“We’re thrilled with last week’s win and the performance [against Dundalk] but we’ve parked that now and we’re focussed on the league. We have a couple of games left and we’re looking to continue our good form coming into the Cup semi final and play-offs.
“We’ve trained well this week and it’s another chance for points on the board. We’ve five league games to play and they’re chances for players to play their way into the team.
“Bray lost last week but they’ve got quality players, as we saw when we played them last in the RSC. We’re taking nothing for granted but looking forward to the game.”
Team News: Brian Murphy and Eddie Nolan continue to miss out through injury. Tunmise Sobowale, Yassine En-Neyah and head coach Danny Searle serve suspensions.
