Waterford FC look to make it four wins on the bounce with a trip to Bishopsgate to face Longford Town on Monday night.
It’s a quick turnaround after the Blues’ 3-1 win at home to Cobh Ramblers on Friday night. Raul Uche gave the Blues the lead before second half goals from Phoenix Patterson and Wassim Aouachria secured the points.
It was a third successive win following recent successes against Bray Wanderers and Dundalk.
The sides have shared the points this season with the Blues winning in Longford, and losing and drawing in the meetings in the RSC this season.
Longford Town come into the game after a 2-2 draw away to Athlone Town, coming from behind twice to grab a point.
The home side sit in 4th place, seven points behind Danny Searle’s side.
From The Dugout: Speaking ahead of Monday’s match against Longford Town, coach David Breen said:
“It was three points [v Cobh]. We scored goals at the right time. We scored early but never really kicked on from there. We know we can play better – some nights you don’t play well and you get results like this.
“We go to Longford with confidence and looking to take three points from it. We’ve had tight games with them this season and going to Longford on a Monday is never easy. The players were back in Sunday morning preparing and we’re raring to go.”
Team News: Brian Murphy and Eddie Nolan continue to miss out through injury. Tunmise Sobowale returns from suspension. Head coach Danny Searle is also suspended.
