Waterford FC is delighted to announce the signing of striker Thomas Oluwa ahead of the 2023 season.

The exciting 21-year-old scored 11 goals last season for Athlone Town and becomes Danny Searle’s first new signing ahead of the new campaign.

The striker started his LOI career with Shamrock Rovers, playing at U17, U19 and Senior level, before spells with Bohemians, Galway United, and Irish Premier side
Larne.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, Oluwa said:

“I’m delighted to be signing for such a great club. Everything here is set up brilliantly and the facilities are top class.

“I’ve seen first-hand what the players here are capable of and I know the buzz that the fans create both home and away.

“I’m excited to get the chance to play my football here and play my part in the push for promotion for the club.”

Speaking on his new signing, Blues boss Danny Searle said:

“We are delighted that Thomas has signed for the club. He showed some real quality last season and is a welcome addition to our side.

“He is at a good age and has a lot of potential, which we are really confident will enhance our attacking options next season.

“I have spoken with Thomas several times and his ambition to be successful is in line with the ambition of the club.”
