Waterford FC is delighted to announce the signing of highly rated midfielder Dean McMenamy on a long-term contract.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Longford Town from Shamrock Rovers, making 30 appearances to help Longford into the play-offs.
The midfielder is a product of the Shamrock Rovers academy, working his way from the Shamrock Rovers U15s to progress to their U19s and senior Shamrock Rovers B team.
Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, McMenamy said:
“I’m delighted to sign for this great club; everything about the club is top class and I can’t wait to get started.
“When I heard Waterford FC wanted to sign me, it was a no-brainer because it’s full-time football, the facilities and the stadium are excellent and one the best in the league, and the fan base is top class.
“Whenever I played against the club last year, the fans were unbelievable. They got behind the teams no matter what and I can’t wait to play in front of them.
“The goal for the year is to win the league. I can’t wait to get a chance to play a part in the club reaching this goal and getting back to the Premier Division where it belongs.
“I can’t wait to get going and meet up with the boys. The hard work has started already.”
