With Waterford FC midway through their pre-season tour in Dubai, the lads have played a match against local side, The Green Herons, and have had a morning down at the beach before an afternoon to explore the city.

The lads were up early and headed down to The JA Resort for a morning gym recovery session. After the Blues’ 5-2 win over The Green Herons on Tuesday night, it was important that all the group rested and got in the all important gym activities.

With some weights lifted and some muscles stretched, it was time to walk down to the beach for a swim and a call-off in the sea. The sun stayed out for the boys, but it’s fair to say the water was a little on the chilly side.

The lads had the afternoon off on Wednesday, and decided to head out into the city. With some going to the local golf club, some heading to the largest mall in the world (Dubai Mall), it was an opportunity of a life-time for the players to see what this city has to offer.

Unfortunately, the rain did play havoc on some of the plans, but it’s fair to say it didn’t stop them from having a great time.

Preparations kick-on again on Thursday morning with head coach Danny Searle putting the lads through their paces with a triple session. This is all ahead of their second match of the tour taking.

The match will take place tomorrow night (Friday 27 January 2023) against Fleetwood United – a UAE Second Division side – you can click HERE and find all the details ahead of the 6:30pm (2:30pm GMT) kick-off.
