Waterford FC is thrilled to announce that Jason Healy has signed a long-term contract with the club.
The 17-year-old goalkeeper has worked his way through the Blues Academy since joining at Under-13.
Jason, who joined the club from Southend United, has been capped at U15, U16 and U17 and recently started all of Republic of Ireland’s four matches at the Under 17 European Championships and made his first team debut recently in thefriendly match against Fleetwood.
Head of Academy, Mike Geoghegan, said:
“The club awarding Jason a contract is a recognition of his talent, his hard work and his potential. The Academy is delighted that Jason becomes the second Academy player to get a contract in the last week. We look forward to seeing him in the Blues first team and watching him progress in the game.”

He’s been exceptional since he’s joined the Academy a number of years ago and has earned this contract through his hard work and dedication. He’s a great example for any goalkeeper to follow and he’s had international recognitition playing in the European Championships this year too. We’re delighted to continue working with Jason to develop his game over the next number of years.”
