Waterford FC

The Blues welcome St. Patrick’s Athletic to the RSC on Monday, as Keith Long’s side look to get back to winning ways after falling to defeat against Galway United in Eamonn Deacy Park on Friday night.

Padraig Amond opened the scoring for the Blues after 18 minutes, tapping home at the back-post after smart play down the right-wing by Connor Parsons to give Amond his second goal in as many games.

The hosts got back into the game early in the second-half through Vincent Borden’s 48th-minute equaliser, before David Hurley snatched victory for the tribesmen with a finish eleven-minutes from time.

The Blues now occupy fourth spot in the Premier Division table with four points from their opening three games, and look to improve on that with the visit of St. Patrick’s Athletic to the RSC on Monday.

St. Patrick’s Athletic FC

The Saints make the journey to Waterford on Monday having picked up just one win from their first three games of the 2024 campaign.

A 1-0 win away to Galway United on the opening night of the season was followed up with back-to-back defeats against Bohemians & Derry City within the past week, as Jon Daly’s side sit in sixth position in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division table.

New signing Ruairi Keating put the Saints in the lead at the Brandywell on Friday night, before Pat Hoban equalised for the Candystripes midway through the second-period. A late Danny Mullen goal gave the hosts all three-points, as the Saints left without a point.

A difficult away trip on Friday up to Derry is now followed with another away trip down South for the Saints, as they also look to return to winning ways.

Team News:

Connor Evans remains a doubt after picking up a knock in training last week.
