Waterford FC proudly recognises World Autism Awareness Day, as the club continues to aim towards making Waterford FC as a whole more inclusive.
With our Autism Friendly Matchday Experience at the RSC, we welcome everyone to the RSC on match night with our own dedicated Autism Friendly ambassadors to help everyone enjoy their experience more.
Waterford FC also provide a weekly ASD Football Friends training session for those aged 6-16, we aim to reduce barriers for all to enjoy the game we love.
Furthermore, Waterford FC are delighted to have a quiet room available for those to use in the RSC if needed.
Speaking on World Autism Awareness Day, Waterford FC Head of Community Colin Power commented:
“At Waterford FC in the Community, we use initiatives in partnership with various community groups and services that have a deep understanding of the specific needs of individuals with autism to provide football related activity specifically for children with Autism. We launched our Autism Friendly Matchday Experience last year in the RSC, along with our weekly football activity for kids with autism every Tuesday afternoon.”
