The Blues will make the journey to Dalymount this Friday looking to bounce back from their narrow 2-1 defeat at home to Shamrock Rovers on Monday afternoon at the RSC.
Darragh Burns opened the scoring for Stephen Bradley’s side ten minutes into the second-half, before Robbie McCourt netted his first of the season to level the scoring just after the hour mark. Substitute Roberto Lopes headed home the decider on 71 minutes, in-front of over 3,600 fans packed into the RSC.
Keith Long’s side will look to bounce back with a result against his former club on Friday – a place where Waterford won on their last visit back in October 2021 when second-half goals from John Martin & Anthony Wordsworth were enough to secure the points for the Blues on a two-one scoreline.
After eight games into the 2024 Premier Division campaign, the Blues currently occupy eighth spot in the league table, as they end their first round of fixtures with the visit to Dalymount on Friday evening.
Bohemian FC
Bohemians welcome the Blues to Dalymount after picking up three points away to Galway United on Monday evening in Eamonn Deacy Park thanks to goals from Jevon Mills & James Akintunde.
The Phibsborough side sit two points ahead of the Blues in sixth position on ten points from their opening seven games.
With wins against St. Patrick’s Athletic (1-0), Derry City (2-1) & Galway United (2-0) so far this season, the Blues will look to make it as difficult as possible for the hosts on Friday afternoon.
