Waterford FC in the Community are delighted to have partnered with Mount Sion CBS in recent weeks, to support their Amber Flag breakfast morning as part of one of their initiatives involved in their Amber Flag programme, which aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
Mount Sion CBS was awarded an Amber Flag status in 2021; and has been awarded this status every year since. Fundraisers, initiatives, well being activities, breakfast mornings and much more have created a positive environment for both students and staff in Mount Sion CBS.
A partnership was launched between Mount Sion CBS & Waterford FC. What began as a 2 week Food Drive to support Waterford Food Bank has developed into a unique partnership between the club and our school. Waterford FC have kindly sponsored our Amber Flag end of term Breakfast Mornings which is funded through sales of The Blue Army. Staff in Mount Sion CBS were delighted to be able to collaborate with Colin Power and Waterford FC in the development of the quiet room in the RSC also.
Waterford FC Head of Community Colin Power is delighted to have partnered with Mount Sion CBS, commenting:
“Mount Sion CBS have always been extremely helpful with any initiatives we try to implement within the community. Their experience & knowledge in lots of different areas has been vital in getting some of our initiatives up-and-running. For ourselves, it’s nice to be able to give something back at these breakfast mornings, a place where we are always warmly welcomed by everyone”.
Mount Sion CBS teacher Zoe Cuddihy also spoke about the partnership between Mount Sion & Waterford FC, outlining:
“Mount Sion CBS is extremely grateful for the continued support of Waterford FC, and the opportunities which have arisen from this partnership. We look forward to continuing this relationship for many years to come.”
