WATERFORD FC

The Blues welcome Bohemian FC to the RSC this Friday in our latest SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division clash. After strong performances at home in recent weeks, Keith Long’s side will look to make it three home wins on the bounce in recent weeks.

An inspired Maleace Asamoah hat-trick saw the Blues defeat Dundalk FC at the RSC a fortnight ago 4-2, with Christie Pattisson also getting his name on the scoresheet against the Lilywhites, before the Blues made the journey to Tolka Park to take on Shelbourne where they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Damien Duff’s side.

Waterford returned home last Thursday as Drogheda United were the visitors in our first live TV game of the season that was broadcast on Virgin Media. After falling two-goals behind, the Blues turned the game around in the second-half with Padraig Amond netting his first hat-trick for the club, along with Darragh Power opening his account for the season.

BOHEMIAN FC

Bohemians make the journey to the RSC this Friday on the back of picking up four points from their last two games – a 3-0 win away to Sligo Rovers before a point at home against St. Patrick’s Athletic last Friday (2-2) where a 92nd minute equaliser from Danny Grant rescued a point for Bohs.

Alan Reynolds side will look to pick up their first points of the season against the Blues, after Waterford defeated Bohemians by one-goal-to-nil back in April when a 31st-minute strike from Padraig Amond proved the difference in Alan Reynolds first game in charge of his new club.

Bohs currently sit in sixth-place in the SSE Airtricity League table on 24 points after 17 games – a sole point behind Waterford FC who sit in fifth on 25 points.

WATERFORD FC TEAM NEWS

Kacper Radkowski comes back into contention after missing last Thursday’s game against Drogheda United with an ankle injury. Harvey Macadam misses out this Friday after coming off in the early stages against Drogheda with an ankle injury himself.

KEITH LONG’S THOUGHTS

“It’s great to have teams like Bohemians coming to the RSC. They’ll bring a big travelling away support to create a good atmosphere in the ground, so hopefully we’ll have a big home crowd ourselves.

The atmosphere in the RSC over the last couple of weeks has been fantastic, so we’d like to build upon that once again if we possibly can. It’s down to performance – we want the team to perform well against a good side, and we’ll be doing our very best to get a result against a good side.”
