Waterford FC are delighted to announce that Padraig Amond has been named as the SSE Airtricity / Soccer Writers Player of the Month for May after a stellar month from the Blues number 9.
Amond netted four goals in six games throughout May, along with providing an assist to add to his numbers, as he picks up the Player of the Month award in his first season back in the League of Ireland after returning home in the off-season.
Included in the month was a stunning fourteen-minute hat-trick against Drogheda United as the Blues battled from 2-0 down to record an impressive 4-2 win – a game that was broadcast live on Virgin Media.
Amond currently sits joint-first in the league’s top goalcorer’s chart, with eleven goals to his name from 21 games played, as the experienced 36-year old continues to play a vital role in Keith Long’s side.
