WATERFORD FC
Waterford FC kick off their Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup campaign this Friday with the visit of Cockhill Celtic FC to the RSC. After reaching the semi-final stage in two of the last three years, the Blues will look to start a successful road to the Aviva against the Donegal junior side tomorrow evening.
The Blues travelled to Tipperary at this stage last year, defeating St. Michaels AFC 5-0 before falling to defeat against Munster rivals Cork City in the next round.
Waterford were narrowly defeated 1-0 at the semi-final stage in both 2021 (Bohemians) & 2022 (Shelbourne), as they chase the dream of getting their hands on the famous FAI Cup trophy.
The Blues have twice been crowned FAI Cup champions – in 1937 & 1980.
COCKHILL CELTIC FC
Cockhill make the long journey down to the RSC on Friday from Buncrana town in Donegal, looking to cause a major cup upset. Celtic were crowned FAI Junior Cup champions in May – defeating Gorey Rangers FC 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in normal time, which secure their spot in the first round of the senior cup competition.
A 7-1 demolition of Ayrfield United of Dublin in the first-round gave Celtic the passage into the second-round, where they now travel to the RSC to take on the Blues tomorrow evening.

Sam Sargeant is a doubt for the game against Cockhill Celtic, while Christie Pattisson, Rowan McDonald & Kyle White remain out injured.
Barry Baggley is continuing his return to training, while Connor Evans & Gbemi Arubi have overcome knocks to be involved tomorrow evening.
