The Blues host Galway United at the RSC this Friday in our third-last Premier Division home game of the 2024, with both sides looking to end their first year back in the top-flight of Irish football in a strong-vein of form.
Waterford picked up an important set of three points at home to Dundalk FC a fortnight ago. Early goals from Sam Bellis & Padraig Amond inside the opening 15-minutes of the first-half put the Blues on their way. Jamie Gullan came off the bench to half the deficit for the visitors, but it proved too little for Dundalk as Keith Long’s side secured all three points.
The Blues made the journey to Inchicore on Friday last to face St. Patrick’s Athletic FC, and despite a positive in-game performance, the hosts prevailed on a 3-0 score line in-front of over 4,000 spectators at the Dublin venue.
With five league games remaining in 2024, Waterford sit in sixth place in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division table on 43 points.
GALWAY UNITED FC
John Caulfield brings his Galway United side down to the RSC on Friday looking to build on their recent form that has seen the Tribesmen pick up points in 6 of their last 7 Premier Division games.
A 1-0 win at home to Shelbourne FC last Friday was followed up with a point on the road away to Drogheda United FC on Monday evening, as Galway look to add to their 46 points they’ve earned to-date in 2024 – sitting in fourth place in the league table with five games left to play.

Kyle White (Hamstring) remains absent for tomorrow’s game against Galway United. Keith Long has a full squad otherwise to choose from – including Sam Sargeant, who made his return to action last Friday in Richmond Park.
