Waterford FC are thrilled to hear that Padraig Amond has been included on the shortlist for this years PFAI SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division Player of the Year after a stellar first year back in the League of Ireland with the Blues.
After 14 years playing abroad in Portugal, Wales & England, Amond made the return back home to the League of Ireland at the beginning of this year – penning a deal with the Blues where he has made a huge impact in his first season with the club.
With 15 goals to his name this year, Amond has recently further committed his future to the club by signing a brand-new deal with Waterford after his impactful first 12-months in the south-east.
The 36-year old picked up the SWAI Player of the Month for May earlier this year after an impressive month where he netted four goals in six games (including a hat-trick against Drogheda United FC live on Virgin Media).
Padraig has been shortlisted alongside Michael Duffy (Derry City FC) & Dylan Watts (Shamrock Rovers FC) for the prestigious award.
Amond has also been included in the PFAI Premier Division Team of the Season after his impressive efforts to-date in 2024.
The awards ceremony takes place on Saturday 23rd November in Dublin, where the winner will be announced.
Best of luck, Podge!
