Waterford FC in the Community are delighted to partner up with Waterford Food Bank once again for 2025 for a third year.

The partnership originally started at the beginning of the 2023 season, in what was the first ever partnership for our new-established Waterford FC in the Community at the time.
Waterford FC in the Community have worked closely with Waterford Food Bank over the last 24 months, from visiting schools food drives, to food collections at the RSC, along with our men’s first-team giving a helping hand at Waterford Food Drive’s Christmas Food Collection.
The Food Bank have spent the last two seasons collecting items at the RSC for all our Men’s first-team home games, and although that won’t take place in 2025, we will still work closely with them throughout the year.
Speaking on the partnership, Waterford FC’s Head of Community Development Colin Power was delighted to be working with the Food Bank in 2025 once more, commenting:
“It is hard to believe we are entering our third season in partnership with Waterford Foodbank. This was our first WFC Community partnership and came about after hearing Karen speaking on WLR. I would like to thank all our supporters for their generous support of the Foodbank at our home games in the RSC. Although you won’t see Karen or John collecting in the RSC this season, I am delighted to say we will still be working together.
Mount Sion CBS have run a very successful food drive for the last two years around Easter and will do so again this year. This always generates a huge amount of non-perishable goods for the Foodbank but also raises awareness about the work they do. Some of our first team players visit the school at the launch of the food drive and the club also provide the students with some tickets to a home game where all items collected are handed over. We hope to roll this out in a few schools this season.
Last season, we had a very successful food drive with Waterford Crystal FC, and this is also something we hope to expand to other clubs this season. Clubs will promote the food drive for a period and first team players will come out to take a training session and Waterford Foodbank will collect on the same night.
One of the really important factors for me about Waterford Foodbank is that whatever is collected goes directly to where it is needed. They provide vital support to families throughout Waterford City and beyond and Waterford FC in the Community are delighted to continue our partnership into 2025.”
Waterford Food Bank’s Karen Glancy is looking forward to the partnership continuing once again in 2025:
“We at Waterford Food Bank are delighted to be able to continue our partnership with Waterford FC in the Community & with Colin. We have established this partnership over two years ago, and it has gone from strength to strength.
We’re really looking forward to new projects in the coming weeks & months, and working hand-in-hand with Colin on progressing Food Drives and awareness of the Food Bank across the city”.
