After the first international break of the season, it’s a return to league action for the Blues as Keith Long’s side welcome St. Patrick’s Athletic FC to the RSC for our latest SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division game of the campaign, and we have everything you need to know ahead of kick-off!

Waterford FC vs St. Patrick’s Athletic FC
SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division
Friday 28th March
RSC, Waterford
WATERFORD FC
The Blues return to the RSC for the first time in three-weeks on Friday night, as they welcome Stephen Kenny’s St. Patrick’s Athletic side to our home ground for our latest meeting against the Inchicore outfit.
With three wins & three losses to our name to-date this season, the Blues go in search of defeating the Saints at the RSC for the third consecutive game – after defeating St. Pats in both meetings at the RSC last season (3-1 & 1-0).
Heading into Friday’s game, Waterford sit in fifth position in the league table with nine points to their name from their opening six games – just two points off early pace-setters Drogheda United FC.

ST. PATRICK’S ATHLETIC FC
The Saints make the journey down to the RSC on Friday looking to continue their recent good run of form they picked up before the international break.
After a slow start to the season with one point from their opening two games, Pats have since gone on to win three of their next four games – most recently a commanding 3-0 win at home to Bohemian FC infront of over 5,000 fans a fortnight ago.
The Saints currently occupy second place in the league table heading into Friday’s game, with a sole point separating the sides ahead of kick-off.

TEAM NEWS
The Blues will be without the services of Any Boyle for Friday’s game due to a hamstring injury. Ben McCormack & Trae Coyle were both named amongst the substitutes bench in our most recent game against Galway United FC, after overcoming their repsective injuries.
KEITH LONG’S THOUGHTS
“We’re excited for tomorrow night against St. Pats. It’s a big game where we want to do well. We want to perform well & get back to being difficult to play against and beat. We’re going to have to be at it tomorrow night against a good side with good players”.
