WATERFORD FC

Fresh from picking up a point in our first-ever All-Island Cup game last weekend away to Treaty United FC at the Markets Field (0-0), the Blues return to league action this Saturday where they travel to Ferrycarrig Park to take on Wexford FC in our sixth league game of the campaign.

With two wins to their name already against Sligo Rovers (2-0) & DLR Waves (4-2), Gary Hunt will look to pick up a positive result against strong opposition on Saturday evening.

The Blues occupy 8th position in the league table going into Saturday’s game, with six points from their opening five games.

WEXFORD FC

Wexford FC welcome the Blues to their home ground on Saturday, looking to build on their recent run of form which has seen them win three of their last four – picking up a point in the other.

The Youths sit in 5th position in the league table, with ten points to their name from their opening six games – six points behind early pace setters Athlone Town AFC.

TEAM NEWS

No fresh injury concerns for the Blues going into Saturday’s game, with Chloe Atkinson, Dan Burke, Lauren Egbuloniu & Danielle Griffin all missing out on last week’s trip to Treaty through injury.

GARY HUNT’S THOUGHTS

“It’s been a while since the Cork game so we are looking forward to getting back to league action this weekend against a very good Wexford side with lots of threats all over the pitch.

We took a lot of positives from last week in Treaty but we also still have lots of work to do on the pitch so this weekend is a great opportunity to work on those things.

We have another couple of weeks on the road before getting back to the RSC but it’s been great to see lots of blues making the trips to support the girls and I’m sure that will be no different this Saturday.”

Tickets for Saturday’s clash in Wexford can be purchased at the gate ahead of kick-off. Safe travels to all Blues making the journey down to back our Girls in Blue!
