John Coleman’s Blues make the journey up to Dublin on Friday evening looking to add to their four points they picked up over the course of last weekend.
First-half goals from Pádraig Amond & Conan Noonan gave the Blues a 2-1 win against Bohemian FC on Friday night at the RSC, before Grant Horton & Amond again helped Coleman’s side pick up against the reigning champions in Shelbourne on Monday night.
Coming into Friday’s game against Shamrock Rovers, Waterford sit in eighth position in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division table with 27 points to their name after 21 games played.

SHAMROCK ROVERS FC
Stephen Bradley’s side head into Friday’s game looking to over-come Monday night’s 2-0 loss away to Dublin rivals Bohemian FC at Dalymount Park. Goals from Dayle Rooney & James Clarke in the first-half inflicit a fourth defeat of the season to the Hoops, as they look to return to winning ways on Friday.
Shamrock Rovers have emerged victorious on both occassions against the Blues so far this year – a 3-1 win in the RSC last month along with a 2-0 victory in Tallaght back in April.
Rovers sit at the top of the league table going into tomorrow’s game, with 45 points to their name after 23 games played.

TEAM NEWS
Conan Noonan is unavailable for selection against his parent club due to his loan-agreement set in place.
Andy Boyle made his first appearance since April on Monday night for the Blues, whilst Trae Coyle returned to the matchday squad for the first time in nine weeks against Shelbourne on Monday evening.
JOHN COLEMAN’S THOUGHT’S
“Shamrock are a very good side. They’re in the luxury of being able to field any of 18/19 top players, so we’re of course going to be mindful of how they’re going to play. We’re expecting them to be a handful, but we’re not going there just to make the numbers up.
We gave them a good game here [in May]. We should never have lost that game, so that’s fresh in our minds.”
