Waterford FC will make the journey to Turners Cross next month to take on Cork City FC in this years Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup Third Round, after being drawn out of the hat against our Munster neighbours in today’s draw at FAI HQ.

The Blues kicked-off their 2025 Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup last Friday with a 5-1 victory over Leinster Senior League champions St. Mochta’s FC at the RSC. Goals from Conan Noonan, Trae Coyle, Pádraig Amond along with a brace from Tommy Lonergan put our name in the hat for today’s Third Round draw.

John Coleman’s side have faced Cork City three times already this season – as recently as 11 days ago, as the Blues picked up a 2-0 win at the RSC in our latest Munster derby league clash.

The Blues emerged winners earlier in the season in a 2-1 win at the RSC live on Virgin Media, before the Rebel Army scured the points against Waterford in Turners Cross back in April.

This Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup Third Round tie against Cork City FC will take place week-ending Sunday 17th August 2025, with fixture & ticket details to be announced in due course.
