Waterford FC are excited to enter a new era, with our brand-new crest launched this morning.

Powered by Waterford’s famous three ships, which are seen on the county’s coat of arms, it becomes our focal point of the crest, giving fans a real feeling of belonging to our club.

The three ships sailing on water, once more showing our connection to our roots with the River Suir proudly running through our city.

Our founding year of 1930 makes a strong visual to our new crest, reminding fans of the history within our club, as we enter this exciting new era of the football club.

The circular design gives a modern-look to our crest, with our name proudly standing out, to give a real identity to our new crest.

Waterford FC Chairman Jamie Pilley is delighted to launch our new crest as we head into an exciting time at Waterford Football Club, stating:

“At our very first fans forum as owners one of the things highlighted by the fans was the desire to replace the Waterford FC crest – something we promised there and then we’d do.

“We wanted to ensure this wasn’t rushed and a proper process was in place to capture the history of the city and the opinion of the supporters.

“It’s taken almost a year of different designs, meetings and debates to get to this point, as well as the fan vote which was incredibly important to us.

“There was one resounding winner in the vote and we are delighted with how it looks.

“We look forward to a new era of Waterford FC with a crest we can all be proud of.”

Waterford FC would like to thanks Christopher Payne, an award-winning designer who specialises in creating unique brand identities for football clubs around the world, for bringing this idea to reality.
