Waterford FC are delighted to announce Chloe Atkinson has re-signed for the Blues ahead of the 2026 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division.
Atkinson made 21 appearances in all competitions for the club in 2025, netting four times for Gary Hunt’s side, as she remains a Blue for 2026.
The exciting winger joined the Blues ahead of the 2025 season, having spent three seasons with Cork City FC, where she made over 35 senior appearances for the Rebel Army.
The attacker, who turns 21 on Saturday, joined Cork City’s WU17 from her hometown club Wilton United, where she showed her potential. Later that season, Chloe made her first-team debut at the age of 17, and has gone on to become a first-team regular since.
The exciting winger has international experience to her name, having been called up to the Republic of Ireland U17 side in 2022.
After a strong first year in Blue, Atkinson will look to build on her experience at the RSC in 2026, saying:

Head Coach Gary Hunt is delighted to retain the services of Atkinson for 2026, outlining the winger as a key player for the group, mentioning:
“Chloe is another player returning for 2026 and an important player for the group. Chloe’s attacking threat and her pace is something which makes her stand out and I am looking forward to seeing her build on last season’s numbers.
Chloe is a hard working player outside of those attacking threats and her work ethic to help defensively was also a factor behind making sure we brought her back for 2026.
Our aim is to grow this season and keeping our top performers was important to us even though they may generate interest from elsewhere and Chloe is one of those that we are delighted to have for the new season.”
