Waterford FC are delighted to announce that Stephanie Dumevi has re-signed for the Blues as we build up to Saturday’s opening day clash against Wexford FC at the RSC.
Stephanie made the move to the Blues in 2023 from her grassroots club Tramore AFC, where she adapted quickly to League of Ireland academy life with the Blues.
Dumevi began with our WU17s before progressing into our WU19 side last season where impressive performances with our WU19s warranted a call-up to our Women’s First-Team side, coming on as a first-half substitute against DLR Waves last March in what was our first home win of the 2026 season.
The young defender shone with the Blues last year, becoming a regular figure in the Blues defence throughout 2026, whilst also capable of playing in midfield, as she adds to Gary Hunt’s side for 2026.
Speaking to the club after re-signing for the coming year, Dumevi spoke of her delight to return for 2026, saying:
“I’m proud to continue my journey with Waterford FC Women. We’ve learned a lot since last season, and we’re ready to put that knowledge into practice.
Preseason has been hard and I’m sure we’ll have the results to show for it.”
Gary Hunt is delighted to keep the services of Dumevi for 2026, mentioning:
“I have known Steph from her early days in Tramore and she is someone I always thought could kick on to bigger and better things so it is no surprise to see her returning to the first team for 2026. Her maturity is well beyond her years and this is something which has seen her stand out in academy football.
Since she stepped into the first team last year, she has featured many times in many different positions and has shown a capability to perform in all of those. I am looking forward to seeing her improve upon those performances and take her game to the next level.”
