The Blues are on the road for the first of two away games this weekend, as they start the double-header away to newly promoted Dundalk FC at Oriel Park tomorrow night, and we have everything you need to know ahead of kick-off.
Dundalk FC vs Waterford FC
SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division
Friday 13th March, 2026
Oriel Park, Dundalk

WATERFORD FC
Jon Daly’s Blues are back on the road this Friday as they travel to Oriel Park to take on Ciaran Kilduff’s newly promoted Dundalk side in our latest away game of the season.
After falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Bohemians at the RSC last week, the Blues will look to bounce back with a positive result on the road at Oriel Park tomorrow evening.
Waterford currently sit at the foot of the Premier Division, with two points from our opening five league games, as we go in search of our first win of the season tomorrow.

DUNDALK FC
Dundalk welcome the Blues to Oriel Park for just their second home league game of the season tomorrow night, as the Lilywhites also go in search of their first win of the new campaign since returning to the top flight of Irish football.
Kilduff’s side to-date have drawn four of their first five league games in 2026, with the most recent coming away to Galway United last Friday in a 2-2 draw at Eamonn Deacy Park.
Dundalk head into Friday’s game sitting in eighth position ahead of kick-off, with four points from five games.

JON DALY’S THOUGHTS
“Every game is important in this league. Of course this weekend we’re playing two teams that are arguably two of teams that we’re fighting with to stay away from the position we’re in right now.
We’ll focus on Dundalk first and try to get maximum points there before we recoup and look towards Galway for Monday. But Dundalk is the most important game, because it’s the next. It’s an opportunity for us to get ourselves off the bottom of the league and start climbing up the table and looking up the way.
Dundalk are obviously a newly promoted side. They’ve got a lot of young players in there squad, and they’ve added some good experience in there too. There’s very little between the sides at the moment. There’s probably teams in the league that have been tipped at having good starts, but if we do our jobs right this weekend, we could be above them, so it’s about focusing on this next game and making sure we go into this game tomorrow full of confidence. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be confident.”

HAYDEN CANN’S THOUGHTS
“We’ve been preparing hard for Dundalk tomorrow night. Obviously it’s a quick turnaround with Galway on Monday too, so we’ll have to have our bodies right for Monday. It’s a busy period but one we’re looking forward to.
It’s our job to make sure we come out on the right side [tomorrow night]. We’re just focusing on ourselves for tomorrow, and hopefully we can come away from Dundalk with a win.”
