After two weekends without action, Gary Hunt’s Blues return to league attention this Sunday afternoon as we make the journey to the UCD Bowl to take on DLR Waves in our fourth SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division fixture of the season.
The Blues kicked-off their season with an impressive 0-0 draw against Wexford FC at the RSC in March, before falling to successive away defeats to Treaty United & Peamount United.
Our most recent fixture was at the start of this month, when we welcomed Shelbourne to the RSC for our first All-Island Cup group game of the year, with the visitors prevailing on a 4-2 scoreline. Issy Walsh opened the scoring for the Blues just before half-time to give us the lead at the break, before Sean Russells side scored four goals in quick succession early in the second-half to take the lead, before Aisling Mahony fired home her first goal for the club with 14 minutes remaining.
The Blues now turn their attention to their visit to the UCD Bowl this Sunday to take on DLR Waves, who themselves head into Sunday’s game on the back of a positive 2-0 win at home to Sligo Rovers on Sunday just gone.
Kick-off on Sunday is at 3pm, with tickets to be put on sale later this week ahead of matchday.
