It’s a quick turnaround for the Blues, as we welcome Dundalk FC to the RSC tomorrow for our second of our Bank Holiday double header games, and we have everything you need to know ahead of kick-off.

RSC, Waterford

Waterford FC
It’s been a weekend of change at the RSC, as David Breen & Brian Murphy take charge of the Blues on Monday night following the club’s statement on Jon Daly and his assistant Richard Foster departing the club on Saturday morning, following our narrow 1-0 defeat away to Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght on Friday morning.
The Blues head into Monday’s game against last year’s First Division champions looking to pick up their first win of the season, after picking up 5 points from our opening 13 games so far in 2026.

DUNDALK FC
The visitors make the journey down from co. Louth on Monday looking to pick back up their form after back-to back defeats in their last two games. A 2-0 defeat away to Sligo Rovers was followed up on Friday night with a 2-1 defeat at home to Shelbourne at Oriel Park – results that see Dundalk move joint third with Bohemians in the league table after an impressive start to life back in the top flight of Irish football.
Dundalk defeated the Blues 5-0 in Oriel Park earlier this year, as they will hope for a result similar at the RSC tomorrow afternoon.

WATERFORD FC TEAM NEWS
David Breen will assess his squad ahead of Monday’s game against Dundalk, with no major injury concerns to worry about from Friday’s game in Tallaght against Shamrock Rovers.
Cian Barrett is available for selection once again, after missing Friday’s game due to the loan agreement with his parent club, Shamrock Rovers.
Finlay Armstrong is the only long-term absentee, as he continues his recovery from injury.
DAVID BREEN’S THOUGHTS
“We’ll give Dundalk the respect they deserve having had a good start to life back in the Premier Division, but we are at home and we need to make the RSC a difficult venue for teams to come and play here so the focus is on us. We will need to have high energy, show character and desire for the 90 plus minutes.
The players attitude has been spot on and they are determined to turn things around with the full support of the fans behind us. The supporters are a huge part of this club and we need them behind us now more than ever.”
