Goforth Amedu
Nigerian centre-back Goforth Amedu joined up with the Blues in June, having had to wait for his visa to come through after agreeing to join with the club last Winter.
The 19 year-old has been included in our matchday squad for each of our last six games, whilst getting important gametime into his legs with our MU20s on three separate occasions, as he continues to build his fitness with the Blues.
Blair McKenzie
McKenzie has made the loan move to the RSC from EFL Championship side Swansea City for the remainder of the 2026 League of Ireland season.
The 6’4″ 20 year old defender adds further depth to Graham Coughlan’s defensive options, with his versatility a crucial part of his move to the RSC, with the defender capable of playing in a number of positions across our defence as well as midfield.
McKenzie was named as a substitute in our scoreless draw away to Galway United last weekend.
Joe Ashton
Joe Ashton became our third new signing of the summer, announced by the club on Monday evening.
The young full-back joins the Blues having come up through the Burnley FC academy in the UK, where he spent over four years with the Turf Moor side.
Ashton, still only 19 years of age, can operate at full-back back or as a left-sided centre-back, is a welcome addition to the Blues for the second half of our campaign.
Noah Mawene
Mawene, a 21 year old central midfielder, joined the Blues on Deadline Day yesterday from Fleetwood Town on loan for the remainder of the season.
An energetic midfielder, Mawene came up through the Preston North End academy in England, spending over 8 years with the Lilywhites before departing earlier this summer. After a successful trial period at Fleetwood Town this summer, the new Blues number 7 makes the move to the RSC for the second-half of the season, where he will look to play an important role in the Blues’ midfield.
Outgoings
Zak O’Sullivan (Wexford), Ronan Mansfield (Cobh) & Alan Zborowski (Cobh) have all made loan moves to the First Division for the second-half of the season, with Zak joining Wexford FC after spending 12 months with Fleetwood Town’s U21s. Meanwhile, Ronan Mansfield & Alan Zborowski have linked up together at St. Colman’s Park with Cobh Ramblers, as they add depth & quality to Fran Rockett’s defence.
After 11 appearances for the Blues in the first half of the year, Cian Barrett was recalled from his loan at the RSC by his parent club Shamrock Rovers, whilst Conor Carty made the permanent move to FC Halifax Town in the National League.
The trio of Calum Costello, Muhammad Oladiti & Sean Costelloe have also departed the club on a permanent basis, with all three signing for Fleetwood Town’s U21s for the 2026/27 season.
Last weekend after eight years at the club, goalkeeper Jason Healy made the permanent switch to H&W Welders in the NIFL Championship for their upcoming season, whilst academy graduate Adam Coyne has also left the club too signing for CK United ahead of the inaugural season of the National League which kicks off next month.
The club can also confirm that defender Finlay Armstrong has left the club by mutual consent. The full-back joined the club twelve months ago, making three appearances for the Blues before picking up a long-term injury which has ruled him out since.
