22 years have elapsed since Waterford FC have last played in the FAI Cup Final, but that number will re-set in less than a months time as Graham Coughlan’s Blues travel to the home of Irish football to take on Derry City FC in this year’s Club Orange Men’s FAI Cup Final (3pm kick-off).
After defeating Bohemians two-nil on Friday night, the Blues will aim to win Ireland’s most coveted cup competition for just the third time – the first since 1980 when Brian Gardiner’s first-half strike secured Tommy Jackson’s side a historic triumph against St. Patrick’s Athletic at Dalymount Park in front of over 18,000 spectators.
Preparations are already in full swing ahead of next month’s FAI Cup Final, with a special FAI Cup retail range coming soon, along with ticket sales set to go on sale in the coming days. All ticketing information will be communicated by the club in the next day or so, with the Blues set to take over Dublin next month.
