Waterford FC is delighted to announce the signing of defender Harry Nevin.

The 19-year-old joins Keith Long’s side having spent the past three years plying his trade in England at Preston North End, and played for the Blues in last week’s friendly match against Fleetwood Town.

Nevin played with the Cork City academy before earning himself a move to Preston North End where he played with their U18 side before a loan last season with Nantwich Town in the Northern Premier League in England.

The defender, who can play right back and centre back, as well as in midfield, has been capped at underage level with the Republic of Ireland.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, Harry said:

“I’m delighted to have signed for Waterford FC. It’s a club that’s going in the right direction. There’s a good strong team and I’m here to help push the club to promotion.

“I’m looking forward to getting started now. I’m here to play and I’m looking for minutes under my belt here.

“I know I need to earn a place in the team, work hard in training and prove to the coaches that I’m ready to play; I want to be playing all the time.”
