Well done to the Waterford FC U13s who had a productive trip to the UK over the weekend.

The team, who are preparing for their U13 Shield final next Saturday, trained and played at Preston North End’s Academy training ground before matches against Fleetwood Town and Port Vale.

The young Blues were unlucky to lose 2-1 to hosts Preston North End’s Under-14 team with Callum Costello getting on the scoresheet. The Blues then went on to impressively win three games, drawing one against Fleetwood Town and Port Vale with Romeo Akachukwu scoring two and Darragh Doyle and Conor Tobin scoring one each.

While on their trip, they also took time out to visit Manchester United’s home ground Old Trafford.

The lads now return and continue preparations for their final this Saturday at the RSC against Athlone Town at 2pm.
