Waterford FC is delighted to announce the signing of Nigel Aris.

The attacking midfielder/striker has linked up with Ian Morris’s side for the 2022 season which begins away to Athlone Town next month.

The talented teenager spent two years with Shrewsbury Town having spent two years at Watford.

An explosive attacker, Aris will add competition to the Blues squad looking for promotion back to the Premier Division for 2023.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, Nigel said: “I’m delighted to be here and it’s been a good few days with the squad already. The quality has been really high in training this week and there’s been a really good buzz around the camp.

“We’ve got a really good mix of young players and the experienced lads too who have played at a really high level and that’s great.

“I’ve done a bit of research on the other teams but we’re really focussing on ourselves now and looking to start the season well.

“I love attacking football, counter attacking football and entertaining football to get fans off their seats. Fans can expect pace, skill and directness from me. They’ll see passion and I can’t wait to get playing in front of the home fans.”

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, manager Ian Morris said: “Nigel is quick, direct and really good in 1v1s. He will be an exciting addition to the squad. It’s great to have him in and ready to go into a big week of games for us.”
