Waterford FC is delighted to announce that Wassim Aouachria will be part of Danny Searle’s squad for the 2023 season.

The former Marseille youth player joined the Blues last July scoring 12 goals in 19 matches; six in the league, four in the FAI Cup and a further two in the play-offs.

Aouachria, who worked with the Blues boss before his move to Waterford last summer, will link up with new boy Thomas Oluwa to strengthen the Blues’ attacking options.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, Wassim said,

“I’ve been here for four and a half months, and it already feels like home. The fans, the staff, the people in the city and county, everyone has been so welcoming. I love it here and I am buzzing to get started for next season.

“Obviously, I was disappointed with how last season finished, but it’s another step to where we all want to go. The club is moving in the right direction and if we keep working hard, we will get back to where we should be.

“I want to win everything next season. The main goal will be to win the league and go back up. It is not just about saying it, but about showing it every week. Working hard and proving we should be at the top table. We have great people here and if we all work hard and back each other we can reach our goals.”
