SSE Airtricity First Division
Bray Wanderers -v- Waterford FC
Friday, 28th April 2023
Kick-Off: 7.45pm
Referee: Eoghan O’Shea

Waterford FC will look to continue good recent form with a trip to face third-placed Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds on Friday night.

The Blues come into the game on the back of a 4-1 win in Limerick on Monday night. Another Ronan Coughlin hat-trick and a Ryan Burke strike secured three points for the Blues to make it five successive wins for Keith Long’s side.

The Blues last faced Bray Wanderers last month in the RSC when, despite leading by two goals inside the opening half an hour, the Blues were forced to share the spoils.

Keith Long’s side will be hoping to continue their good form over the Wicklow side, in a run that has seen the Blues unbeaten in ten games against the Seagulls, while Ian Ryan will be hoping to extend his side’s home form to five games unbeaten in the Carlisle Grounds.

The hosts come into the game sitting in third place, seven points behind the Blues in second spot.

From The Dugout: Speaking ahead of Friday’s match against Bray Wanderers, head coach Keith Long said:

“It was a great performance [v Treaty United]. We set the tempo early, moved the ball really quickly and scored some great goals.

“It’s recovery now and give ourselves the best opportunity on Friday night. It’ll be very difficult against Bray.

“I watched Bray last Saturday and have seen them a couple of times this year and they’ve got some good players. Bray is a good place to play football and the pitch is normally quite good. We’re expecting a tough game but we’re really looking forward to it.”

Team News: Matthew Connor, Darragh Power and Wassim Aouachria miss out through injury.
