Waterford FC return to the RSC this Friday after successive away matches with the visit of Athlone Town.
Tickets can be purchased here now.
A busy period saw the Blues pick up four points last weekend with successive away matches. Last Friday, Cameron Cresswell’s penalty secured the points away to Bray Wanderers, despite the Blues playing with 10-men for 60 minutes.
A quick turnaround saw the Blues then travel to Markets Field on Monday night as the game finished 2-2 against Treaty United – Christie Pattisson and Connor Parsons on the scoresheet for Keith Long’s side.
It’s now eight league games unbeaten for the Blues in the league ahead of Friday’s home clash with fourth-placed Athlone Town.
Opponents Athlone Town lost to Wexford last weekend, but their previous four matches saw them take eight points from 12 on offer.
Athlone sit 4th in the league table. The Blues remain second.
From The Dugout: Speaking ahead of Friday’s match, head coach Keith Long said:
“We were disappointed with Monday [v Treaty]. We were poor and very flat in the game. We were 2-0 up in the game and we’re disappointed with the goals we conceded.
“We have to dust ourselves down and not feel sorry for ourselves. It’s important to regroup and get ourselves organised now because we know that Athlone have some really talented players who can punish us. We need to be ready for another tough game.”
Team News: Harry Nevin, Barry Baggley and Ronan Coughlas miss out through injury. Cameron Cresswell returns from suspension.
