Waterford FC is delighted to announce the signing of Derik Osede.
The experienced Spaniard and former Real Madrid defender joins pending international clearance.
Derik came through the Real Madrid Youth system before playing for the club’s C and Castilla teams, making over 100 appearances before a move to Bolton Wanderers.
The experienced 30-year-old centre back played 65 times in the Championship and League 1 for Bolton before returning to Spain, and brings experience to the Blues squad.
Madrid-born Derik has represented the Spanish national team at every level from U16 to U21, and was part of the victorious U19 side that won the 2012 UEFA European Championships.
Speaking after signing, Derik said:
“I’m very happy to sign for Waterford FC. I’m looking forward to helping the team achieve the goals this season.
“I’m a technical, pacey defender when I’m on the pitch and I’m looking forward to getting started.
“It’s been good since I arrived and I can’t wait to get on the pitch now and make my debut for the club.”
Derik linked up with his team mates this week and strengthens the squad ahead of the busy end to our league campaign.
