Waterford FC would like to thank Ronan Coughlan as regrettably Ronan will not be part of the Blues squad next season.
Despite the club’s best efforts and contract offers, the striker has reiterated his desire to play in England and we wish Ronan all the best.
Ronan joined the club at the beginning of the 2023 season, netting 37 times in all competitions, breaking the SSE Airtricity First Division goalscoring and all-time Waterford FC record for the number of goals scored in a single season.
The club thanks Ronan for his contribution to the club over the past season, helping the Blues win promotion back to the Premier Division for 2024.
Head Coach Keith Long said:
“We’re disappointed to see Ronan leave but the club did everything we could to secure Ronan for next season.
“He was outstanding last season, but he’s made it clear he wants to play in England again.
“Of course we’re sorry to see Ronan go, he was excellent last season for the club but we wish him well.”
