Waterford FC first-team captain Barry Baggley has been named in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for their upcoming international games at the end of this month.

Northern Ireland Under-21 manager Tommy Wright has named Baggley in his squad for their friendly against Czech Republic on Thursday 21st March (5:30pm kick-off), along with their UEFA U21 Euro 2025 qualifier away to Serbia on Tuesday 26th March (6pm kick-off).

Barry has made a huge impact in the Blues midfield already, just five games into the 2024 SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division campaign, playing every minute of the Blues five league games along with providing one assist, as the Blues sit third in the league table.

Baggley has made seven caps with the Northern Ireland U21s to date – most recently last November when he came on against England at Goodison Park in an international friendly.

The SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division will have an international break after this Friday’s game-week, which allows Barry to represent his country without missing any games for the Blues before we return to action against Sligo Rovers on Friday 29th March.

Congratulations on your call-up Barry!
