WATERFORD FC

The Blues make the journey to Inchicore this Friday on the back of picking up four points from their last two games. An impressive 1-0 win away to Bohemians in Dalymount Park a fortnight ago was followed up with a tight 0-0 draw at home to Galway United at the RSC last Friday.

Padraig Amond’s fifth goal of the season was enough for the Blues to get beyond the challenge of Bohemians in our most recent visit to the Irish capital two-weeks ago, a game that saw the Blues back by over 450 travelling supporters.

Keith Long’s side head to Richmond Park on Friday looking to pick up their second win of the season against the Inchicore outfit, as the Blues defeated Pats by three-goals-to-one at the beginning of March at the RSC. A brace from Padraig Amond, along with a stunning solo effort from Maleace Asamoah was enough for the Blues to secure all three points.

After ten games into the 2024 Premier Division campaign, the Blues currently occupy seventh spot in the league table on 12 points.

ST. PATRICK’S ATHLETIC

St. Patrick’s Athletic welcome the Blues to Richmond Park on Friday after picking up impressive results in recent weeks. A 3-0 home win over Sligo Rovers at the start of this month was back with a 2-1 win against champions Shamrock Rovers four days later, before they picked up a point away to Dundalk in Oriel Park last Friday.

The Inchicore side sit in fifth place in the league table, two points ahead of the Blues on 14 points after 10 games.

After a tough start to the season, Pats have turned their results around and will look to stop Keith Long’s side unbeaten run this weekend.

WATERFORD FC Team News:

Barry Baggley misses out through injury (back), while Ryan Burke serves a one-match suspension after picking up a red card last Friday against Galway United. Robbie McCourt is available for selection, after missing out on last Friday’s draw at the RSC.
