Five of our academy teams were in action across the weekend, with some impressive results & good football on show throughout Saturday & Sunday! Check out how each team got on below.

SATURDAY

MU20: Waterford FC 1-2 Drogheda United FC

Our MU20 fell to defeat at SETU Arena on Saturday against Drogheda United FC in their MU20 League tie.

The visitors found the breakthrough from the penalty spot after half an hour, before the Blues levelled when Calum Flynn got on the end of Kacper Skwierczynski’s throughball on the hour-mark.

The Louth side secured the win eight minutes from time when Conall Cronin found the winner to send Drogheda home with the points.

WU17: Peamount United 2-0 Waterford FC

Our WU17 exited the WU17 LOI Academy Cup on Saturday afternoon, after falling to a two-goal defeat to the Dublin outfit at PRL Park.

After an even 75 minutes of action, the hosts found the breakthrough with eleven minutes to go. As the Blues pushed on to bring the game to extra-time, the hosts doubled their lead in injury time to secure their place in the next round of the cup.

MU15: Waterford FC 10-0 Limerick FC

Our MU15s produced a stunning ten-goal performance on Saturday afternoon at home to Limerick FC in their MU15 Tier Tow clash.

After finding themselves four-nil ahead at half-time, the Blues produced an excellent second-half performance to secure the points against their fellow Munster rivals.

Goals on the day coming from Orion Cala with a hat-trick, a brace each from Harry Farrell & Callum Slattery, along with goals from Ryan Murphy, Charlie Carroll & Aston King Hennessy.

SUNDAY

WU19: Waterford FC 2-1 CK United FC

Our WU19 side picked up all three points in their WU19 Tier Two tie in SETU Arena on Sunday afternoon against CK United FC.

Cliona Kearney opened the scoring after 12 minutes for the Blues, before CK United levelled proceedings ten minutes later.

New signing Mia Lenhian netted the winner just before the hour-mark as the Blues picked up another valuable three points.

MU17: Waterford FC 8-0 Limerick FC

Our MU17s picked up maximum points at home to Limerick FC on Sunday afternoon, with an eight-goal display against the Treaty-side men.

Aaron Cass, Jay Brophy & Jan Wozniak all netted a hat-trick, with Fidel Pululu & Orion Cala also getting on the scoresheet as the Blues picked up an important three points.
