Waterford FC is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to take on the role of Manager for our Women’s Premier Division side. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape the future of women’s football at Waterford FC.

About Us:
Waterford Football Club was established in 1930, and has been a member club of the League of Ireland ever-since. Now playing our home games at the Regional Sports Centre (RSC) in Waterford city in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division currently, with our Women’s side set to play their home games from 2025 at the same venue. Seven underage clubs across both girls & boys play under the Waterford FC name in the League of Ireland academy, who play their games & train in SETU Arena.

Responsibilities:

As the Women’s Team Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success and development of the team, both on and off the pitch. Your key duties will include:

  • Leading tactical coaching sessions to develop individual and team performance.
  • Overseeing match preparation, including opponent analysis, team selection, and in-game management.
  • Implementing long-term player development plans, focusing on technical, physical, and mental growth.
  • Collaborating with the Academy to identify and nurture young talent, integrating development pathways for future first-team players.
  • Managing the operational aspects of the team, including training schedules, team travel, and matchday logistics.
  • Ensuring clear communication between coaching staff, players, and the club’s management.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
  • Working closely with the club’s medical and performance teams to monitor player fitness, well-being, and injury prevention strategies.
  • Representing the club at external events, such as league meetings and media engagements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A minimum of a UEFA A license.
  • A passion for women’s football and a desire to grow and promote the women’s game.
  • Proven experience in coaching, particularly within women’s football.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with diverse groups of players and staff.
  • Ability to collaborate with Academy coaches to implement development plans for emerging talent.
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to balance short-term results with long-term team growth.
