Waterford FC are excited to announce that Ben McCormack signed a new deal with the Blues to keep the attacking midfielder at the RSC for 2025.
McCormack joined the Blues at the end of 2023, as he now extends his time at the RSC ahead of the 2025 SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division.
The 21-year-old has a wealth of League of Ireland experience despite his age, with 105 senior appearances to his name since he made his debut with his previous club St. Patrick’s Athletic FC in 2019.
The Blues number 7 made an immediate impact at the RSC in 2024, with 33 appearances to his name (29 of which came in our Premier Division campaign), netting four times across all competitions.
McCormack proved the difference at the RSC back in July when his former club St. Patrick’s Athletic visited, as his deft header seven-minutes into the second-half secured the points for Keith Long’s side in a one-nil win.
Ben became a real fan favourite at the club during 2023, with his attacking threat on the ball & off-the-ball work in the heart of the Blues midfield, along with the eye for goal.
McCormack was delighted to have penned a new deal for 2024, commenting: “I’m delighted to stay at Waterford. I really enjoyed it here last year at the RSC, and I hope we can do bigger and better things next season.”
